The youth ministry at Oxford Methodist church aims to complete Oxford United Methodist Church’s mission, “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world,” as we minister to our church’s sixth through twelfth graders. During the school year the youth meet Sunday nights 5:00-6:30. The Sunday night meetings begin with a fellowship at a supper provided by parents or church members. After dinner the youth head to the youth room for a time of worship and games. We then introduce the lesson and break into small groups where we use Scripture and discuss important issues for today’s students. We also strive to have one mission related activity each month, doing park or road clean up, tree planting, or assisting ACIM. And, once a month we head out to camp Oak Hill for their youth group night.
The youth meet for fellowship and discipleship a couple times a month during the summer months.
Each month the youth also have at least one fun fellowship opportunity. Two of these opportunities include a weekend trip to the North Carolina Conference’s youth event Pilgrimage in November and a week long conference ministry event called Breakaway over the summer.
Year-round the youth meet in the pastors study at 10:00 on Sundays for Sunday school.
The major youth fundraiser of the year is Chicken-on-a-Mission, a barbecue chicken plate sell that takes place the last Friday of February.

In order for our program to take care of a student in the case of an emergency, we ask for all parents to fill out the Youth Medical and Liability Release Form: Youth waiver.
